Betway Becomes Official NHL Sports Betting Partner

North America's First Sports League Association

Leading online sports betting brand Betway, has signed a multi-year agreement with the National Hockey League to become the league's Official Sports Betting Partner, Super Group, the brand's parent company. For Betway this agreement is very significant, being the first for the brand with a North American professional sports league and will be launched with the start of the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Logos, brands and campaigns

The online sports betting brand will receive brand exposure on NHL game broadcasts and will also host the top spots in the NHL Winter Classic, the NHL Stadium Series and the NHL All-Star Weekend.

In addition to increased brand awareness among professional hockey fans, Betway may use official NHL logos, trademarks and designations in order to design authentic marketing programs tailored to NHL fans. This agreement will also ensure that Betway gains access to all of the professional hockey league's media assets, such as personalized email, social and digital marketing initiatives, to help the sports betting brand expand its customer base.

A big hit from Betway

Anthony Werkman, Betway CEO said in a statement that it was an incredibly proud moment when they announced the North American sports league's first partnership with the NHL. "Beginning with the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Betway brand will receive great exposure to the sports fans around the world and that will continue at other NHL star events throughout the calendar, which is very exciting for us, "added Werkman.

Looking to gain a position in the US market

The NHL deal is the latest step for Betway to establish itself as a recognized brand among sports fans in the United States. In March, the online sports betting brand signed sponsorship deals with franchises of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the New York Islanders of the NHL. Betway will collaborate with the world's leading basketball league through more than 60 brand partnerships with teams and leagues, including the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers.

Additionally, the Los Angeles Kings will introduce the brand through gaming and other digital assets. Betway CEO Anthony Werkman said the partnerships show the company's commitment to promoting the brand in high-profile sports shown around the world.

Betway enters the German sports betting market

The sports betting operator seeks its reach globally. In March the Darmstadt Regional Council approved Betway's license which gives the bookmaker the ability to offer online betting products to players from all over Germany. The operator has already signed its first partnerships to enter the German sports arena with Bundesliga soccer clubs SV Werder Bremen, Hertha BSC and VfB Stuttgart.

In the first months of 2020, Betway made progress in other markets around the world, announcing a sponsorship agreement for the T20 cricket tournament in South Africa and the launch of "Betway Squad" to expand its exposure in Brazilian territory.
